Almost nothing a club blocks out happens only once. The league takes tables 1 to 4 every Wednesday evening. The coach has the snooker table every Tuesday at five. The tables get recovered on the first Monday of the month. Until now each of those meant opening the panel again and writing the same exception down for the next date - and the week somebody forgot, a guest booked the league table.
Exceptions now repeat on their own. You write the rule once.
Daily, weekly or monthly
When you add an exception under Exceptions in the Admin Panel you now choose how often it comes back:
- Every day - for a cleaning hour, a shift handover, or a kitchen slot that never varies.
- Every week - the same weekday as the date you started from. League night, coaching night, a regular private hire.
- Every month - the same weekday of the month rather than the same date, so "the third Wednesday" stays the third Wednesday instead of drifting or skipping a month the way the 31st does.
The panel tells you in plain words what you just set up - "Weekly · Wednesday, with no end date" - so there is no guessing at what the rule will actually do.
Running until you say otherwise
A repeating exception can have an end date or no end date at all. A tournament series that finishes in October gets an end date. A standing league that has been running for six years does not need one - leave the field empty and it simply keeps going, with nothing to renew and nothing to remember.
Changed your mind? Edit the rule and every future occurrence changes with it. Delete it and they all go. You are editing one line, not a year of entries.
All tables, or just the ones involved
Every rule can apply to the whole club or to the exact tables you pick, and it can either close them completely for the day or open them for a shorter window than usual. That covers the two things clubs actually need: "we're shut on the 24th" and "tables 1 to 4 are ours from 17:00 on Wednesdays, the rest of the room books as normal."
Guests only ever see what is genuinely free. The tables you have set aside disappear from the booking page for those hours, so nobody books them and nobody has to be rung back and told they cannot come after all.
Why it matters
The practical win is that a recurring commitment stops depending on somebody remembering it. Fewer double-booked league tables, fewer apologetic phone calls, and a booking page that stays honest about your room without any weekly upkeep.
